AUSSIES INVOLVED IN EAST TIMOR FATALITY

THE AGE - AAP

One person has been killed and two others injured in a vehicle crash involving Australian forces in East Timor, Network Ten says.

The Australian Defence Force confirmed that personnel from the Australian-led International Stabilisation Force (ISF) had been involved in an incident involving a motor vehicle.

"Defence cannot provide any further details at this time," an ADF spokeswoman said on Thursday.

But Network Ten has reported one person died at the scene and two others were airlifted for emergency care.

The ISF personnel were helping organise logistics for the Tour de Timor bike race, Ten reports.

The ISF consists of Navy, Army and Air Force personnel from Australia and New Zealand. Of its 460 personnel, 380 are from the ADF.
