Aussie troops fresh from a deployment in East Timor have been reunited with their loved ones after returning to Brisbane.
About 110 reservist soldiers from the 11th Queensland Brigade arrived home on Sunday after an eight-month stint in East Timor.
It was an emotional homecoming for their partners and children who greeted them at the terminal.
The uniformed soldiers walked out to a standing ovation and lots of hugs and kisses.
The troops were part of the international stabilisation force.
Commander of the 9th Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Michael Bond, told AAP the troops were involved in foot patrols and training exercises with the East Timorese defence force.
"The soldiers were providing a bit of a security backbone in support of the Timorese Government," he said.
"They're delighted be home after eight months away, all of them have big plans now they're back.
"It's been a magic moment."
For some of the soldiers the journey home is not quite over; many will travel to Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.
The soldiers have already been replaced in East Timor with reservist troops from NSW.
